释义	女儿女婿对其老丈人是没有法律赡养义务的，婚姻法只规定子女对父母有赡养扶助的义务。但是法律上是鼓励丧偶儿媳对公婆，丧偶女婿对岳父、岳母尽了主要赡养义务的。而普通的丈夫对妻子是有法律规定的相互忠实、相互扶助的义务的。在一般情况下，只有子女对父母有赡养义务，女婿与岳父母、儿媳与公婆之间没有血缘关系，两者属于姻亲关系。从婚姻家庭法律关系上讲，他们之间并无赡养的权利和义务。但是女儿、儿子对父母是有赡养义务的，作为配偶，女婿、儿媳应当协助履行赡养义务。
