释义	法律分析：重大过失是指在正常情况下责任人在法律行为能力范围内能够预见而没有预见或已经预见但轻信事故不会发生而未采取措施所造成的事故及损失为过失，重大过失是一般人都能预见，作为有相应工作能力的人员却没有预见或预见到但轻信不会发生而造成事故或损失的一种主观心态。法律依据：《中华人民共和国刑法》第十五条过失犯罪。应当预见自己的行为可能发生危害社会的结果，因为疏忽大意而没有预见，或者已经预见而轻信能够避免，以致发生这种结果的，是过失犯罪。过失犯罪，法律有规定的才负刑事责任。
