释义	合同到期后，如果双方均同意续约，那应该重新签订书面的房屋租赁合同，明确新的权利义务。即使仍按原协议履行或改动的权利义务条款较少，双方不愿意重新签订书面协议，也应该简单签订一份补充协议，附在原协议后面。法律依据: 《中华人民共和国民法典》第五百五十七条置权人对留置财产丧失占有或者留置权人接受债务人另行提供担保的，留置权消灭。第七百零五条租赁期限不得超过二十年。超过二十年的，超过部分无效。租赁期限届满，当事人可以续订租赁合同;但是，约定的租赁期限自续订之日起不得超过二十年。
