什么是民事诉讼的撤诉？
释义
撤诉是指原告撤回自己的起诉或者由于原告的某种行为符合法律规定的情形，人民法院对其起诉按照撤诉处理的诉讼行为。撤诉制度既是当事人处分自己诉讼权利的有效手段，也是人民法院结案的重要方式。它对保障当事人具体诉讼权利的实施，保障人民法院公正快捷地审理案件起到了积极的作用。

第一百三十一条宣判前，原告申请撤诉的，是否准许，由人民法院裁定。
第一百二十九条原告经传票传唤，无正当理由拒不到庭的，或者未经法庭许可中途退庭的，可以按撤诉处理。
