释义	法律分析：变造货币罪是指对货币采用剪贴、挖补、揭层、涂改、拼接等方法加工处理，以增加货币面值或增大货币数量，数额较大的行为。伪造、变造货币的行为，严重扰乱国家的金融秩序，损害国家货币的信誉，严重危害国计民生。由于伪造、变造货币成本小，利润大，一些犯罪分子在高额利润诱惑下不惜铤而走险。法律依据：《中华人民共和国刑法》第一百七十三条变造货币，数额较大的，处三年以下有期徒刑或者拘役，并处或者单处一万元以上十万元以下罚金;数额巨大的，处三年以上十年以下有期徒刑，并处二万元以上二十万元以下罚金。
