释义	合同到期时不是自动终止合同的，合同到期终止合同要依据合同的条款而定，如果是约定到期终止的，合同是自到期时自动终止;如果是约定了到期后自动延续的，就要在到期前提出到期终止合同的请求。根据法律规定，民事法律行为可以附期限，但是根据其性质不得附期限的除外。附生效期限的民事法律行为，自期限届至时生效。附终止期限的民事法律行为，自期限届满时失效。法律依据《中华人民共和国民法典》第一百六十条
