释义	肇事逃逸是指在交通事故发生后，当事人明知自己发生了交通事故，为逃避事故责任，故意逃离事故现场，不向公安机关报案的一种违法行为。有两种情况： 1、人和车都在事故发生后逃离事故现场； 2、弃车逃逸，即当事人将车留在现场，人逃离事故现场。法律依据《刑法》第一百三十三条交通运输肇事后逃逸或者有其他特别恶劣情节的，处三年以上七年以下有期徒刑；因逃逸致人死亡的，处七年以上有期徒刑
