法律分析:
办理异地临时身份证是需要居住证的。可以让单位帮忙开具一张“身份证丢失证明”，凭此证明可以去派出所补办一张临时身份证。
异地临时身份证办理流程：
1、本人到居住地公安机关居民身份证异地受理点申请，填写《居民身份证异地受理登记表》，缴纳证件工本费。其中，申请换领的交验居民身份证，申请补领的交验居民户口簿或居住证。2、异地受理点受理居民身份证换领、补领申请后，及时将受理信息传送至申请人户籍地公安机关，户籍地县级公安机关及时审核签发。3、居住地公安机关接到经审核签发的制证信息后，在法定时限内完成制作与核验发放，申请人凭领证回执到受理点领取证件。换领证件的，领取新证时应当交回原证。

第二条 居住在中华人民共和国境内的中国公民，在申请领取换领、补领居民身份证期间，急需使用居民身份证的，可以申请领取临时居民身份证。
第三条 临时居民身份证具有证明公民身份的法律效力。
第四条 临时居民身份证式样为聚酯薄膜密封的单页卡式，证件采用国际通用标准尺寸，彩虹印刷，正面印有证件名称和长城图案背面登载公民本人黑白照片和身份项目。
